We use the occasion to ask some information about our next English course. I found this event very useful and well organize, thank to all the people gave help for developed this nice festival. I was happy to go there with my classmate and I enjoyed very much the day.

Melbourn Cup

Melbourne Cup it`s a horse races, it take place at 300 pm every 1st November since 1877.
In that day the nation stop for wacting the race and in Melbourn is also public holiday.

Do you know what is sweep? It`s a lottery in which each ticket-bolder is matched with a randomly drawn horse.

Is tradition for the lady in that day wear an eat end if If you are interested to this fashion you can check the millers directory on the Racetrack Fashion link and you will find allot of ideas and list of company they make eat.

The most famous Australian racehorse is Phar Lap`s he won the most of races and became an Australian symbol for hope, dreams and prosperity. Today you can see the rest of him body in the National Museum of Australia and specifically the big heart.

I think it is very interesting appointment it give allot of folklore to Australia and now it`s belong to Australians tradition forever.

MY EXURSION IN BUNDEENA

A couple of weeks ago, 3 classes and 3 teachers, Marion, Sally and Andrew went on an excursion to Bundeena which is not too far away in the Royal National Park.
We went there in 30 minutes by ferry from Cronulla. There were only a few houses there.

In a quiet, peaceful atmosphere, we spend few hours there. First, we walked on the beach and arrived in the area where the rocks start. Then, we climbed a little bit and after followed a path and we discovered a particular area.

In the beginning I had the sensation of flying back to a prehistoric time! I started to imagine the Dharawal people living simple life- fishing, making canoes, and enjoying drawing in the rocks. They drew some important elements that belong to their life like kangaroos, stingrays, turtles some kind of fish and molluscs. Only our voices brought me back to reality.

After thousands a years, there is a lot of erosion from water but unfortunately some erosion is from people who wrote letters and numbers on these ancient rock engravings. I think we need to respect and try to protect as much is possible these signs of history.

On the day the weather was so so and just when we were leaving the area it started to rain. Fortunately it wasn’t too heavy. After that we walked back and stopped in the R.S.L. were we enjoyed a lunch all together. After little while we took the boat back to Cronulla. I had a little tour of shops with some classmates and Marion before eventually going home.

Finally I found this area very magical and for sure it was nice to share this day with our classmates and our teachers.

Report on Bundeena

Bundeena is one area in Royal National Park, not too far away from here. If you want go there you have two possibilities, one is by ferry from Cronulla and one is by car through the Royal National Park.

This is quite an uncontaminated area. Few people live there. There is a Club too to enjoy some foods and drinks. The most important things to see in Bundeena are the fantastic beach, the panorama and the Aboriginal engravings. made from the Dharawal people from 200 -5000 years ago.

To discover them you need to walk on the beach and arrive in the area where the rocks start. You climb a little bit and follow a path that brings you straight to this isolated area. The Dharawal people made a simple life by fishing. They made canoes and enjoyed drawing on the rock. They drew some important elements from the place where they lived, for example, Kangoroos, Stingrays, Turtles and some different kinds of fish and molluscs.

There is some damage on the drawings due to erosion, consequences of the weather( after thousands of years). Unfortunatly, some damage is from careless people.
